The thyroid gland is a little winged gland located in a lower part of the necks that controls the rate of function for every cell and gland in the body, including growth, repair and metabolism. It regulates the rate the body burns food, body temperature, breakdown of carbohydrates, vitamin absorption, energy levels, mental clarity, hair texture, nail strength, skin condition and sex drive. It is fair to say that you can’t maintain optimal health unless your thyroid is healthy.
